Fall Fundraising Fun

How's that for alliteration?

Last night, Executive Director Jan Isenhour and her husband Larry hosted the final fundraising reception of our $1 million capital campaign. We're just $13,000 away from our goal! Thanks to everyone who attended and to all those who have offered the Carnegie Center their support. And of course, our sincere appreciation to our Fundraising Committee, volunteers, and the Isenhours for opening their doors to us and sharing their wonderful home.

Some photos from the evening:

Guests enjoyed readings by Writer-in-Residence Neil Chethik (below) and Executive Director Jan Isenhour.

Have a great day!

Online Resources for Creative Writers
Saturday Nov. 15 10:00 am-1:00 pm

The internet provides creative writers with access to more resources than ever--databases of literary magazines and conferences, online writing workshops, contest listservs--but these resources can be difficult to find and evaluate. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the best websites for researching writing conferences, contests, grants, and literary magazine publishers. $25. Carrie Green

If you are interested in signing up, please give us a call (859.254.4175) or send us an email (ccll1@carnegieliteracy.org).

We hope to see you there!

New Family Learning Center Mural

The Family Learning Center (home to our wonderful after-school tutoring program) has a new tree mural thanks to volunteer, Ruth Barcelona. Here's a sneak peak!

Ta-Da!

Speaking of the Family Learning Center and tutoring...
If you have already completed an intake meeting with our tutoring coordinator, we are still looking for a tutoring match for you. Fatimah will contact you as soon as a tutor is found.

For those who are interested in tutoring, our program is currently at capacity. We will begin taking inquiries again in January. If you would like referrals to other low-cost tutoring programs, please give us a call (859.254.4175).

Thanks again to Ruth for creating such a beautiful mural for our students to enjoy!
