Young Women Writers Project

I could not say enough good things about the wonderful 9-12th graders that make up the 2008-2009 Young Women Writers Project. After completing a 5 week writing workshop series at the Carnegie Center, the YWWPers performed in a reading Friday evening to share their work with family and friends. It was a real treat!

The following morning, 15 4th and 5th grade girls were led in writing exercises by the YWWPers as part of a mentoring day. Special thanks to Bianca Spriggs for her supervision of this session.

Thank you to the YWWPers for being such a great group. I look forward to hearing you read again this fall at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference. Special thanks also to the Kentucky Foundation for Women for making this program possible.

Happy Monday!

What a great opportunity for young women! My 16 yo daughter was just accepted into the Governor's School of the Arts summer creative writing program and she is so excited!

Will there be another workshop for young women in the future? My daughter would love this. She just recently attending an all-day workshop at Cumberland Falls sponsored by EKU for creative writers.
