BURIED TREASURE: DISCOVERING KENTUCKY FOLKLORE

Mon-Fri
July 20-24
8:30 am-12:30 pm

Did you know Kentucky is teeming with talented musicians, storytellers, archaeologists, craftspeople, and artists? Spend a week with this camp and learn about the gifts that keep on giving in our state. Find out what it’s like to put together a story and perform it, try your hand at a new craft, and what it takes to preserve our state’s heritage! Prepare to be dazzled by your Bluegrass state! Led by Bianca Spriggs-Floyd

WALK ON THE WEST SIDE
Mon-Fri
July 20-24
1:00-5:00 pm

Starting from the Carnegie Center, we’ll head west (mostly) to explore the downtown area. We’ll sketch, photograph and write about the places, plantings and people we observe along the way. Each day we’ll investigate a different route, documenting what we find, then we’ll stop at Sisohpromatem Art Foundation (on West Short Street) to create art based on your impressions and found objects from the areas we visit! Led by Sonja Brooks.

We hope to hear from you soon!

~warmly~
Katherine
