The Carnegie Center is calling on young women in grades 9-12 to apply to the Young Women Writers Program, a FREE series of intensive workshops focused on self-expression through writing. Applications are due no later than Friday, January 15, 2010. Selection will be limited to 15 participants.
Those admitted to the program will receive full scholarships covering all instruction and materials as well as lunch at each session. Five sessions, held on consecutive Saturdays during January and February 2010, will incorporate creative writing exercises in flash fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, poetry and young adult fiction. The selected participants will gather for five 4-hour workshops taught by experienced writers with expertise in a variety of fields and genres. Download the application by clicking here.
